I'm somewhat late but I use an old shoebox with ziplock bags labeled with different colors (red/pink, orange/brown, yellow, green, blue, purple, black/gray, sparkle, and neon) I hope this helps!

i have a super large thread collection, and i do the same thing with my bobbins, i have an organiser and organise them by colour. then for my skeins i have two little mini chest of drawers, like little craft drawers! they just fit in my bookshelf, you can buy them probably wherever you bought the organiser, and then i have a drawer for each colour ๐ makes it super easy and it looks rlly cute since i bought clear drawers and you can see the colours inside!

i use a lot of thin yarn (1-4) and a ton of DMC embroidery floss, the DMC i keep in those squared off boxes and theyโre color coordinated, like the colder colors in their own bin and warm colors in their own. with my yarn i organize them in separate cubbies
