I’m planning on making a chapstick holder I have a few questions 1. What pattern is best? 2. How would you start the pattern? 3.What are the dimensions? 4. How much string would it take? Also any other tips or other things I should know would be very appreciated 😊 |

These might helphttps://www.braceletbook.com/forum/3_bracelet-tying/22458_chapstick-holder-questions/ https://www.braceletbook.com/forum/5_hints/12714_chapstick-holder/ https://www.braceletbook.com/forum/8_other/10712_chapstick-friendship-bracelet-holder/ https://www.braceletbook.com/forum/6_requests/22490_patterns-to-make-chapstick-holder-or-pouch/ I've never made one myself so the following replies are only guesses: 1. What pattern is best? - a pattern that looks good when both edges are connected - to figure out a good amount of strings, I recommend measuring the circumference of the chapstick and also measuring the width of a bracelet with a certain amount of strings and then you use that to calculate how many strings you would need for the circumference of the chapstick (I would recommend adding a few more strings than calculated to accommodate for the thickness of the bracelet) 2. How would you start the pattern? - I would start it like a regular bracelet and make several loops, I'd connect the left edge to the right edge 3.What are the dimensions? - I would base the size on the circumference and length of the chapstick 4. How much string would it take? - probably not very long strings because chapsticks aren't very long but you might need more strings than a regular bracelet might need |

I made a chapstick holder for my Burtsbees chapstick and it requires 64 strings wide. I knotted in the round but you could also make it and then see the edges together.
