Sometimes when making bracelets / working for long periods of time, I'll get some soreness / pain in my wrist, which usually makes it feel a little weak. Of course when this happens I'll take breaks- I'm just wondering if there's something else I should be doing to keep my wrists healthy for this. I've thought of doing some wrist stretches for artists but I'm not sure how much they'd help since the motions for bracelet-making are different. Anyone have any advice here? Ideas of stretches or just things in general that help you? It's worth noting I come from a family that just has weak joints in general, so this may just be a me thing. Thanks in advance! |

I have had this a little bit and I found that there are several things that I did that worked for me. It may not work for you. I don’t know! Also I don’t do them all at the same time! I just pick one to do it. Any way here are some things I have done- 1- I roll my wrists when it begins. 2- I shake my hands really fast back and forth. 3- I take a break from knotting and do something else for a little bit. Recently I haven’t used any of these cause I I tried adjusting how I knot. So instead of using my wrist and bending it I find that keeping it straight helps as well as trying to keep my wrist relaxed more instead of tense. Hope this helps!

Those stretches for artists should still help! They loosen things up and lessen the pressure on the tendons in your wrist, which helps with pain that comes from doing repetitive hand motions.

Stretch, take a break. Putting a warm cloth on it helps a lot too ^^
