Aloha (Hello) everyone ๐Ÿค—๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿผ,

Is it a good idea to wax Griffin silk thread before using it for beading/kumihimo? I am not using the thread for restringing pearls. I am considering trying out kumihimo. I have not been able to find a good video or article regarding this. Any kลkua (help) and advice would be greatly appreciated. ๐Ÿ˜Š Mahalo he nui loa (thank you very much)! ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿผ

This is probably not very good advice, because I've never waxed thread or used silk thread, but here is what I could find on either topic:

- waxing makes thread stiffer, more resistant and less stretchy
- you can use waxed thread for beading, friendship bracelets or kumihimos

- I also found that you can wax silk thread, but I could not find anything about if it is necessary or useful for kumihimos or beaded bracelets

I would say, just try it out. You can do a small bracelet with not so many strings, if you are unsure.
