where to buy strings?

Hey does anyone know where I can buy embroidery thread in a ball (rather than a skein) or any other types of string i can use that come in bigger amounts as i want to make a large wallhanging and the small skeins will run out and i will have to change colour part way through. in the UK

I saw that you can buy larger skeins of thread straight from the DMC website and maybe amazon but im not sure about any places in the uk other than online

crochet thread comes in bigger balls and isnt the same as embroidery floss and usually doesnt have as much color variety but it works just as well

Crochet thread works good. You have to be careful with the thickness because it is slightly smaller or thicker that regular embroidery floss. I use it quite often and by adjusting my knot tension it works fine. It saves me lots of money since I don't have to buy 300 tiny scines. idk how to spell that word sry.
