So I’m almost out of embroidery floss, and I was wondering what brands I should get? Should I only get one brand or multiple? Dmc or loops and threads? What should I do to be organized when I buy all this string? But mainly, what brand(s)?

Loops and threads is wonderful, when you get it in bulk it only costs around 10-15 cents per skein (WAY cheaper than dmc). It’s also less silky, which means it’s easier to work with. For organization, I wind all my string onto bobbins and then put them into string organizer boxes/bins in rainbow order. But that takes a while and it’s definitely not for everyone 😂

@Brooke1683 in bulk is when you buy something that comes with a large amount, rather than buying it in single amounts. So a bulk pack of floss is another way of saying a big pack of lots of floss

I get my thread from Hobby Lobby. They have different packs of threads like tye-dye, neon, assorted colors, etc. The prices for these packs range from $5 to $20 and a single skein is 60¢ each, but I know other people recommend JoAnne's, Michael's, and Walmart has thread too but I don't know how good theirs is.

I just go on amazon and buy the pilleay threads for color and then separate order for pilleay black and white string. I know it’s not DMC, but it works really well for me. Hope this helps! ❤️

the dmc threads are nice, but if you're looking for something a little cheaper then I'd recommend prism or loops & threads!

Should I only get one brand or multiple?- You should only buy one brand since the thread from different brands can make different-sized knots and mess up your bracelet.
Dmc or loops and threads?- DMC is of higher quality and has lots of colors (500+).
What should I do to be organized when I buy all this string? Buy some embroidery floss bobbins and some boxes to organize.

I use DMC for my threads. It feels a lot better and I like the colors more than other brands like Prism. However, it is pretty pricy at 70 cents per skein. I get mine at Joann's and sometimes they have sales where I can get it for 40 cents. The special kinds, like metallic and variegated, generally range between $1.30 and $3.00. If you are doing alphas, I would get a cheaper thread for base strings. That way you aren't using good quality and expensive thread on stuff you are barely gonna see.
