I am working my way up as far as how many strings I am able to use (Currently around 18-ish), does anyone have any advice on how to manage them in the 30+ range? How do you hold them down/tie them with that many?

I usually just use a clipboard to hold the top strings, but I know that some people have used cardboard looms to hold the bottom strings and stuff in order. I know there's companies out there that make friendship bracelets specific looms too to help you sort and manage your string!

I usually make bracelets by duck taping them to the string container. When making large patterns I separate the different sections of the string by like 8-10 strings per knot. This helps keep them separate and it helps me keep them organized. Good luck!

I sometimes use a piece of cardboard and cut slits out to hold my string in place for the first couple rows/segment, then they should just stay in place without needing to hold them down. 🙂

I sometimes lay down on the side of my couch or bed and take whatever string is currently the working string and put it on the edge so it is easier

I use a clipboard and I put it on a table and don’t move it at all during the tine I do the bracelet

I just pin mine to a pillow, and the thread doesn’t slip around because of the texture of the pillow 🙂

I just separate some strings to the side to keep them out of my way

I like pins and clipboards because I have found that tape falls off easily. For managing the strings, I usually separate it into sections like maybe 4 sections each with eight strings.

i tape the string down with a couple of pieces of tape, just to make sure it will hold and carefully knot the first couple of rows. after that, the will keep themselves in order and you can transfer it to a clipboard, or pinned to something. i personally prefer the clip board. if i've got particularly long strings, i like to wrap them up and hold them with bobby pins so they don't get too tangled within themselves..
