Straight edges technique and tear drop loop

Hi!I am working on pattern #1621752. I am wanting to add a string in order to do the straight edges technique as well as begin the bracelet with a tear drop loop. I have done both techniques separately but never together. How would you go about creating the loop in the beginning with the extra strings? |

Do the loop same as normal. Make the extra thread the last one on each side
