Make sure that it’s something you really want to do. Are you gonna have it where people make requests or they can pick this that you have already made? If you do it where people can make requests I would recommend putting a limit on how many requests you can have a time.

Yes I definetely agree with @KnotForgot. Custom orders can attract a larger amount of customers and although this is good for bussiness, make sure to limit how many can be placed as you do not want to be flooded with too many orders. Start small with a couple of products and then you can work your way up from there! I would also suggest doing some reaserch on what sort of thing sells well.
