Hello everyone! 😄You might have seen my pattern #83023 and the dice I made from it. Inspired by this pattern I also designed a shaped braid pattern #83119. Later I realised that you can use this braid pattern to make a dice if you switch the 4 and the 6 and pull the knots tight instead of leaving loose strings. Once you have done six sides like this you just sew or tie the three open edges closed that will stay in the end. I realised that you can do this with any braid pattern that is based on the three strand braid. For shaped braid patterns you can just take the pattern as it is. If it is not a shaped pattern you can just leave out all knots of strings of the same colour. I decided to make a list of patterns you can do this with: The smaller patterns might not work as well as the bigger ones. I have so far only done it with 30 strings. 9 strings: #15334 checkerboard #15470 dots 12 strings: #14980 hearts 15 strings: #17601 single colour + checkerboard #16436 triangles #16435 chevrons #16444 zig zag (I think this one would look super cool) #16446 zig zag #16431 stripes #16432 stripes #16434 checkers #15469 squares 18 strings: #15734 swirls #26811 checkers 21 strings: #16439 snowflakes #27026 dice (switch sides 4 and 6) #16438 paws #53940 flowers (not a shaped pattern but can be turned into one) #16318 I ❤️ U (leave the blank side out) #35805 anchors #38222 turtles #55810 circles #55809 dots #55807 dots #55805 squares #55808 stripes 24 strings: #12889 clovers and swirls (not a shaped pattern but can be turned into one) 30 strings: #83119 dice (switch sides 4 and 6) You can also take most two colour square shaped patterns and turn them into shaped braid patterns similar to the ones from this list and then make them into cubes. The possibilities are endless 😄 |

I would love to see a video of someone pulling one of these patterns together into a cube. 😀

@minutcraft I don't have a video but if you have Instagram I have a story highlight where I made a dice. It's only photos of the individual stages and I had not figured out yet that I can just use a braid pattern so I don't really do it in the order of a braid but it should still be interesting. My Instagram is @pride.pixels
