I have a hack that is about getting motivation for larger projects and not giving up on yourself!!! If you have a large project, like a wall hanging or something, and you are getting frustrated or just really unmotivated, try starting another pattern that you know you love. I have a wall hanging I am working on, and I have gotten down on myself quite a few times, but I also have a starburst going because I know I really love that pattern. So whenever I am getting frustrated I just take a break and work on my starburst until I am in a good place and am motivated again!!! Hope this helped some of you 😄

Keep your leading string on a bobbin while tying alphas. That way it doesn’t tangle as much and you don’t have to add string as often.

Ok here’s mine it’s kinda weird but oh well, I get really confused with memorising patterns. So I tend to go on procreate (a paid digital art app on iOS) insert my pattern that I screenshoted then cross the rows/sections I’ve done in the pattern using red. I personally think it’s wayyy better than printing the pattern out because it’s more eco friendly!

Of course you don’t need to use procreate! There’s some really good free art apps out there!

I have a clipboard that I keep all my stuff on, so I can bring it every where. And it has a price of foam so I can stick my safety pins in

Here’s one for dealing with motivation:Usually if I think I’m going to lose some motivation I join challenges or make them for certain people, that way I know I have to finish it |

When I make loops I make a larks head knot onto the center of the base strings with the string I use to make the loop

If it’s a repeating pattern where the colors change and you are getting confused or the pattern is just short which makes it a bit confusing to read, I have tip for you. On my phone I screenshot the pattern and the put it into this app called PicCollage (free and available on the iPhone, not sure about android). I pick the free style collage and insert the screenshot of the pattern. I enlarge so it fills the top half of the screen and then I insert the same picture again and line it up below the first. Basically I have doubled the pattern length wise making it easier to read.

I use my clipboard as much as I can to help myself. My clip board has a clip with a circle ring at the top. I have a safety pin clipped to it so I can undo my knots without needing to search for one and since I don't like using tape Instead of taping strings behind my bracelet and knotting as usual I tie my new strings to the circle and cut it off after I have done enough rows. It uses more string up but its the method that works for me.

If you use bracelet book on a computer or print out patterns, you can place a sticky note under the row you are working on to keep track of your place. It won't leave a residue like tape, but holds steady. Hope this helps and happy knotting! 🙂

I keep a gift card next to me when I am knotting. I use it to push up on the knots to straighten them when I finish a row. It helps a lot!!
