I would honestly just say practice. The people you watch probably knot every day. I have gotten a lot quicker since I first began so I think it’s just a bit of practice and patience.

To knot faster you need to practice. Try to find smaller normal patterns that are easy for you (#1, #2, #3, etc.) and make one every day. they're simple enough it shouldn't be too hard, and it'll help you figure out a rhythm that works for you. Finding a knotting style that works is really important, especially if you want to improve on your speed. You can even start timing yourself (i.e. "last week it took me *x* amount of time to complete this pattern with this many strings, lets see if i can do it in less time") change it up tho, if you do the same pattern every day you'll get tired of it. you could also try to customize your search to help you find easy patterns you like. I would recommend putting in Type: Normal, # of strings: 2-8. this'll give you a lot of variety in your search and you can still get lots of results that way!! |

@maddy160 and @sugarknots. Megan Morris on YouTube recently made a tutorial dedicated to knotting faster! it has 10 great tips, if you still need some more!

The way I see the most progress is by knotting frequently and knotting for a long period of time when I have the chance!

@sugarknots segment knotting is when you look at a pattern, and try to find the ‘triangle’ in it. If you have made a chevron bracelet before, you wouldn’t know it, but you are actually segment knotting it, because you are doing a section at a time. This probably doesn’t help, but Mashaknots and Megan Morris have really great videos on it, but they’re quite long: (MashaKnots video first, then Megan Morris):
