The knots used in alpha patterns are the same as in normal. The arrow going to the right means to make forward knot and the arrow to the left means to make a backward knot. The reason why the arrows are horizontal as opposed to an angle in the normal patterns is because when you are knotting an alpha, you knot row by row in a horizontal line. In normal patterns, all of the different colored threads work together to create a bracelet and the angled arrows show the path of where each string is moving (if that makes any sense😅)

@rubisaa11 thank you, but I was actually talking about the knot which you tie a little differently and its done in alphas, idk what its called but thank you ❤️

Hi, I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about. Perhaps the colour switch in the flat alpha technique. MashaKnots has a video on the flat alpha technique.
