Hey, is there a way to start an alpha with a straight edge (as in not a triangle end or making a loop) and make it look neat?I've seen it done for bookmarks where the base strings are knotted in a way that they don't show up anymore, but i wonder if you can do this in an actual bracelet so that you still have ties coming from both ends. I guess you could just start knotting as usual but in my head it doesn't look too neat. Also for just starting to knot in this way, is there any way to hold the strings down except for tape? I used to do this but it pains me to waste so much tape, I would like to know if you have some more environmentally friendly options ๐ |

@mexikoanne has a tutorial on her instagram called Meetandcraft for a loop with a straight edge, and she also shows how to do just a plain straight edge in that video. She demonstrates the technique on a normal bracelet but I'm sure it would work the same with alpha base strings as well. Check it out if you can, it's very helpful.

Yeah! I can think of only two right now, there might be more but idk:A clipboard (Using the clip to hold down the strings .) A safetypin (I think only work for loops. You put the loop inside the pin, then just pin it somewhere and start knotting!) |
