what size crochet thread should I use for base strings?

For base strings you can pretty much use any thickeness (as long as they aren't overly thick). I like to use Size 5 as it is the same thickness as Embroidery Floss, so I can then use it for both base strings and also for leading strings. I tend to use Size 5 DMC Petra aswell as a brand called Sirdar. Both you'll find on Amazon. 🙂 |

you can also get aunt lydias corchet thread, its pretty cheap if you get off amazon or your local craft store
