I can’t figure it out. I already made part of the pattern, but I want my string amount to only be six but it’s set at 13. I made the whole pattern and all of that and whenever I go to make a pattern it doesn’t give me the option to edit how many strings I need so can someone please help me

Is this about alphas or normals?

Normals:

A normal pattern with 12 strings has 6 knots in odd rows and 5 knots in even rows.

If you have 13 strings, you need to remove one knot in your even rows, because currently you have 6 knots there.

You can most easily remove strings in "interactive normal". Click the minus on the right edge once to remove a string. Click "save" afterwards.

Alpha:

The amount of strings is the amount of base strings plus one extra for the leading strings. If your pattern says it has 13 strings it means it has 12 base strings. It's probably what you want, so you don't need to change anything.

If the amount of base strings is 13, to get to 12, go to "draw alpha" and use the minus button at the edge of the pattern. Click "save" afterwards.
