every time I make an alpha from a photo it doesn't look like anything and I can't figure out how to fix it |

Play around with size and amount of colours. You also always need to tweak the pattern. Alpha from image won't produce a perfect pattern by itself, no matter the settings.

Am I able to import a picture as an alpha patter and post it or is that not allowed and I'd have to design the pattern from scratch?

@yoxi235 if you designed the pattern yourself or you have permission from the original creator of the pattern, you can upload a pattern. If it is not your own pattern and you don't have permission from the original creator, you can't.
