You basically hide the loose strings in the knots at the edges. It works the same way as triangle starts and ends.

Do you know how to make triangle ends in alphas?Lets take my pattern #89623 as an example: The blue knots show where there are left out knots. The pattern has 10 base strings. In row 1 to 24 there are 6 green knots per row and 4 left out knots on the right of those. That means, you do the first 5 knots regularly, but the right most knot you make around 5 base strings instead (the one you would usually make it on plus the 4 that get left out). In row 25 and 26 you have 7 green knots and 3 left out knots. You make 6 regular knots and the 7th knot is again around 4 base strings (1+3). |
