I would suggest using the interactive generator. Just try making basic shapes like diamonds and chevrons, then work on adding more to make them different than other patterns. Iโm sorry if this wasnโt a super detailed explanation, but the more you practice, the better at it you should get

@meljensik good patterns to start off with are the chevron, candy stripe, zipper, chinese staircase. Also just watching youtube videos on how to read patterns and tutorials
