Lol, I've made quite a few normal patterns and now I want to try alpha patterns. Problem is, I can't figure out how to change the colors. I've watched so many tutorials and my brain still isn't comprehending it. (And yes, I did watch Masha knots and other popular bracelet maker's tutorials :/ ) I even went on tiktok 😂

I assume you are trying to do the flat-alpha technique. The steps are the following:- make the first half of the knot of a new colour with a new leading string of that colour - take the old leading string and lay it over the base string you just knotted onto but under the new leading string so it is in between - make the second half of the knot of the new colour, make sure the old leading string is in between the knot and the base string - fold the old leading string behind the bracelet If you want to start with a regular colour switch first, you can also do that. It's a bit easier. - fold the old leading string behind the bracelet - take a new leading string and make the knot of the new colour like you normally would The flat alpha technique has the advantage that the pattern tends to come out less bumpy but the regular colour switch is a little easier for beginners. To start with I recommend a pattern with not too many base strings and maybe 2 or 3 colours. Here are some patterns you could try: #1654 clouds #26396 leaves #40357 daisies #34178 cow spots #52213 sunflowers #25829 moon #80292 daisies |
