Hi, I would like to learn how to make normal patterns that come out at least somewhat decent. Any tips? Often I have issues having the top and bottom strings match in a pattern. I also love gradients but my gradients sometimes get declined for having similar colors. My bracelet patterns are often denied for the keywords I choose too. What type of keywords should I use?

For keywords look at those with similar patterns and see what keywords they use

Also for top and bottom matching, keep repeating the pattern until that warning goes away

When the top and bottom strings don’t match, you just need to copy and paste the existing knotting structure until the warning goes away. Before you submit a pattern with a gradient, make sure you can easily distinguish each color, and adjust them if you can’t. You can also find existing patterns and variations with gradients and click “add a variation”, then copy and paste the hex codes of the colors to your pattern. For keywords, try to think of keywords that you would search if you wanted to find a pattern like the one you’re submitting. You can enter keywords of shapes that are in the pattern (diamond(s), chevron(s), arrow(s), square(s), etc) or other features of the pattern, such as overlapping, lattice, or interlocking. If the pattern has an outline, you can add the keywords border(s), bordered, outline(s), and outlined.

you have to have deep knowledge of how knots work and what they do in a pattern. If you don't really quite understand them then I suggest you study different patterns. Hope this helps! Happy pattern making! -@stewon6969 |
