I've made a bracelet but I'm not sure how to turn it into a pattern

So I made a bracelet quite a while ago, before I looked up bracelet making online and found out about patterns, etc. I like it, so I thought I'd try to make a normal pattern with it... but it has 13 strings! I've never made a pattern before so I have no idea how to deal with this. Also I don't know how to find out if this is already a pattern or type of pattern that exists. In order to make it you have to make the strings different lengths as well, something like 15 inches for the shortest and 60 for the longest.

Here's a link to a picture (hopefully it works).

Thanks for any help!

I just realized it's also my profile picture ๐Ÿ˜Š

I made it just by segment knotting (I didn't know any other way), first all forward knots doing progressively fewer knots of each colour, ending with the purple knot on a string that's never visible, and then all backward knots doing the same thing.

It looks like #22777, but with one more string

It can definitely be turned into a pattern (I just made it in the generator) but I don't know if there's already a pattern of it on the site.

Well I've entered it! I had to improvise because the generator will only take an even number of strings... so my pattern just has a string sitting off to the side never used. ๐Ÿ˜„ We'll see if it's good enough!

The generator accepts both even and uneven amount of strings. The only thing you have to have is an even amount of rows.

If the loose string is on the right side just go to the interactive generator and click - on the right side.

If it is on the left side it is a little more complicated but I can try to explain it to you if needed ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks so much! I didn't even see the Interactive Normal part of the generator, having never used it before. Is there a tutorial somewhere on using the generator? I searched but couldn't find one.

Hi, in order for me to see your message you need to add me like this: @halokiwi.

There is no tutorial on the interactive normal generator but the generator is pretty straight forward.

You click on the knots in the pattern to change the knot type. Left-click circulates the knots in the order f, b, fb, bf, 0 and right-click circulates them in the opposite order.

To change the colour of a string you click on one of the colours in "colors used" or add a new one in "using color". Then you click at the beginning or the end of the string you want to change the colour of.

To add or remove strings you click the + or - on the left and the right of the pattern. On the left side you always have to add or remove two strings because otherwise the knotting structure gets messed up.

To add or remove rows you need to click + or - on top and on bottom of the pattern. I recommend doing that at the bottom of the pattern because the string order at the top stays the same and that can make it confusing when adding or removing strings at the top.

In "new knots" you can select the knot type that gets added when you add new strings or new rows.

There are "undo" and "redo" buttons for when you accidentally clicked the wrong button.

Before going back to the normal generator or leaving the generator you need to click "save" so the pattern gets saved.
