I'm not sure if I understand your question correctly, but if your wrist has a circumference of 16 cm the length should be 16 cm (or slightly more or less depending what you prefer). It should not be significantly longer than 16 cm because then it will be loose around your wrist.

Hi, I have the same question and problem. I don't know how long my bracelet should be with my wrist of 14cm-15cm diameter. With 1 bracelet, I made the pattern 15cm long and the length was good 👍. But with another one, the same 15cm long of pattern, made that bracelet too wide 🙁. I don't have a clue what I made was wrong, this bracelet is way behind my wrist and close of my elbow.

I recommend making the bracelet a bit shorter than your complete wrist circumference. I usually check regularly while tying, if the bracelet already reaches around my wrist or if I need to make it a little longer. What kind of closure are you using? Did you do shaped ends? Do both bracelets have the same closure/ends? @Alicia0214 |

@halokiwi, all my closures are adjustable and after looking on youtube on different friendship bracelet tutorials, I like 2 types of closures. When the pattern is symmetrical, it's a loop or teardrop loop. If not, it's a simple triangle ends or half triangle ends with ties. I must tell you that, since I'm not very good with one hand, I cannot make braided ties.On youtube, I like to watch Masha knots videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPcpD-i2D0U https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05sDSDDr5rM And another closure video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpfeZ9vq9F8 |

@halokiwi No, both of them d'ont have the same closure. I have an arrowhead pattern with a teardrop loop, and the other it's a pattern of watermelon triangle slices. It's the watermelon bracelet that is too wide.

@Alicia0214 when you make a loop, the loop adds additional length to the bracelet. So loop plus bracelet need to be the desired length, not just the loop.

@halokiwi And what about bracelet plus ties for my watermelon ? If you said anything about it, I believe it's because the calculation of the length is made without the ties. Is that right ?

@Alicia0214When you tie a bracelet closed with two ties, both ends of the bracelet will touch, if tied tightly. When you tie a bracelet closed with a loop and ties, the loop and one of the ends will touch. |

@halokiwiSo, if I finally understand, I must add the length of the ends as well because they take part of the bracelet. Thank you so much ! Right now, I doing another watermelon with half triangle ends, and I will be careful of the length of the entire bracelet. |

@Alicia0214 yes, you need to consider the length of the entire bracelet plus loop and triangle ends, because that is the length it will have when tying it closed.
