Hi,I have made a few alphas previously but I would love, love, LOVE to be able to make my own normal patterns. Does anyone have any tips for making them? I have read the tutorial on how to make them and tried to design a few simple designs but most of my ideas have already been put on the site. I would love to make more complex designs. Is there an easier way to make normals or is there a good website people use? It has been my dream since I joined to be able to make normal patterns so hopefully someone could help me out? 🙂 ❤️ |

Personally, I haven't published many normal patterns, but what I would suggest is just keep playing around with different designs/thickness/knots to create a unique pattern! Hope this helps somewhat 🙂

I actually like to use the other friendship bracelet website (message me if you want the name of it) to create my normal patterns, then I just transfer them to braceletbook. I don’t have an account on the other friendship bracelet website, but I can still generate patterns. The only issue with the other website generator is that it doesn’t save if you don’t have an account, so you might want to take screenshots or you can just make an account

Literally 2 hours after I posted that, braceletbook just introduced an interactive pattern generator! Now, it should be much easier to create normal patterns and you won’t have to transfer the knots from one website to another. You can read more about it in the latest blog post because I haven’t fully tested it out yet, but it’s definitely easier to use than the old generator

For a normal pattern the generator adds 2 rows at a time. Here’s my trick for knowing how many knots need to be in each row (if you have too many strings and not enough knots the generator erases the colors).Even amount of string: the number of knots in the odd numbered rows will be half of the total number of strings, and the number of knots in the even rows will have one less than that. So a 14 string bracelet will alternate between having 7 knots and 6 knots in a row. Odd number of string: Subtract 1 from your total number of strings and divide that number by 2. The even and odd rows will have that number of knots. So a 15 string bracelet will have 7 knots in every row. |
