image to alpha not working?

Whenever I try to generate an alpha based on an image, none of the colors show up; it only comes out as black and off-white. I've tried PNG, JPEG formats. Which file type is the most successful?Thanks! |

when i create by image I always take pictures in black and with or just two colors and then I place my colors by myself on it. maybe when you create you put just two colors, you can click on that and you can put up to 26 colors on your pattern! hope im not too confusing ... have a good day feel free to ask if you need anything!

Thanks for the suggestion! It made sense to me. I'm new to the site and I didn't realize I needed to change the max number of colors once you upload an image.

Once the pattern is created you can change your colors if you end up not liking the colors the generator puts.
