Hello all! I have a couple patterns that I’d like to start knotting but I’m not exactly sure how sense they are 1212 patterns. Do you guys have any suggestions for starts and ends on these types of bracelets!? Thanks so much for the help💕

I like to do triangle starts if it’s larger than about 12 strings, otherwise loops are good 🙂

Also I’m pretty sure all normal patterns are technically 1212 patterns and you can segment knot any 1212 pattern some are just very inefficient and don’t allow for many segments. 🙂

@aa7648 thanks so much! I was thinking of doing a teardrop loop! Just wanted to be sure it would work in a 1212 pattern

i found that triangle ends wor the best for me on those patterns

I would just leave a little string at the top, start the bracelet in a straight line, make the bracelet end it in a straight line and braid the top and bottom

@alyssanead that is actually a great idea that I will use for next time!💕 I ended up just going with with a loop and triangle and it is looking great!

@aa7648 1212 patterns are actually normal patterns that consist of only (or mostly) fb and bf knots. So all 1212 patterns are normal patterns, but not all normal patterns are 1212 patterns😊
