Hello! I just started making alphas using the flat alpha technique and when I make a knot before the edge and have to change colors the color of the last string is poking out and it doesn’t look very pleasant. All of the tutorials keep saying “do a normal knot instead of weaving it in” but I don’t know what a normal knot is. Can anyone explain a bit please? Help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

do not use the flat alpha method when there is a color switch on the last knot of the row or when there is a color switch on the first knot of the row. use the regular color switching method that masha knots explains in her original “how to read alpha patterns” video. that will ensure that you don’t have any string poking out the side. hope that helps! 🙂

When you are inserting a new leading string (or switching leading strings at the edge), cross the new leading string over the old leading string. I hope this helps! 🙂
