Hey hey.

I've been making bracelets for a while. I was just wondering if there is a good guideline length to make starting strings in a normal bracelet so that you don't come up short but don't have ridiculous amounts leftover either? I know it varies per pattern but does anyone have a guideline?

@Stardust_T My general rule of thumb is to make it the length from the tip of my middle finger to my elbow. About 15 inches or so.

@Stardust_T Most people do from the tip of their fingers to their shoulder or chest, plus 20-30cm for ties

My normal bracelets are really bumpy from the top how do I fix this or should I just iron them when I'm done?

@Someony ironing can really help flatten them up! Sometime when there are knots in the strings my bracelets get bumpy but I always go and cut them off after.

I just finished a bracelet where I change colors. How do I finish the back? Just cut the extra strings, tie them together or something else?

@piasereyn Yes, just cut them off. As long as your knots aren’t extremely loose (which is unlikely) the knots won’t come undone

I can only make the candy stripe because I can't get my knots to look the same you can clearly see the difference in my knots example my towards and backwards knots

@zobear123 Take a screenshot of the pixel image of the pattern, rotate it if needed, then just make the pattern and make sure that you’re making the exact pixels you see in the image

Hi for the candy stripe chain link pattern (I can’t remember pattern number since I learned it from a YouTube) is it possible to still put the strings on the outer edges doing bf knots and fb knots? The method to make bracelets straighter.
