So I just made a keychain and I was wondering if you cut all of the base string really tiny to where you can’t see them would the knots come out??

i've never tried it but i would assume they would start unraveling

I think it would be quite difficult for them to come undone, however I wouldn’t just Incase 😊

you could glue it or put clear nail polish or something and it would probably keep that from happening though

Nail polish them in place to prevent them from coming apart

As Clairaland said you can place clear nail polish to keep them in place or even glue works too.

you can but i wouldn’t recommend up to where the knot is! either way it wouldn’t unravel right away. you can add some clear polish at the tips of the cut strands to make it extra secure (:

i know you said it’s a keychain but for the future if you make a bracelet and use nail polish sometimes it can become sharp it’s happened to me before so just be super careful😁😁

you really don't need to secure the strings, they will stay in place just cutting them off. just don't cut them flush to the bracelet, leave a little bit of length. if you cut the strings flush to the back of the bracelet, it is possible that they will unravel. as long as you leave some length, you will be fine. it can literally be the smallest amount, like a millimeter, and you will be fine. hope this helps.

Yes the knots would unravel but you could cut a trim to make it cute and it wouldn’t unravel

The strings will stay in place unless you pull or push the string then, the bracelet will unravel. I would just put a little bit of glue to secure the strings in place. 🙂

using clear nail polish is totally fine on a keychain but i definitely wouldn't recommend using it on a bracelet as it makes very hard and pokey and uncomfortable to wear.

maybe you could also sew a simple border with some thin thread on the last row as an extra measure, just pick a colour that matches the colour scheme

you could cut then and then put clear nail polish or you could cut them so their a little bit showing.......but dont cut then to short becuase if you did not tie it tight enough it would come undone it also depends on it you tie the knots tight or not.

I tie the extra sting into little tassels that hang down from the rest of the pattern.
