how to tie strings onto a stick for a tapestry with an odd number of strings?

how do you do this? i just loop all the strings on but now i have an odd number...

if you can the easiest thing to do is to add an extra base string on the end (i would only do that if the pattern has a plain background)

Yeah I agree with @landrenee that’s what I when there is an odd number of strings, I just add an extra one to the pattern. Just make sure to be aware of it when you’re knotting

You can also loop the strings on as if you’re adding an extra base string, but then just use your extra string as the leading string

You can also just loop the strings normally and leave one string out, but since that looks a little messy, I would do what @madeleine_ suggested 😄
