I have recently been using alpha patterns to make keychains like I have seen in some photos on patterns, however the past two that I have made have turned out super elongated and look different than the other photos I’ve seen. My end product is always more stretched out vertically and looks a little distorted and I was wondering if anybody had tips to avoid this or could explain why this is happening

So this is most likely happening because of your knotting structure (it gets better with practice) your knots could be too loose

You should try tying your knots tighter

You should try to make the knots more consistent. It gets better with practice 😊

Making knots tight is the best but if you pull too tight the strings can snap so be careful

Try to make the units tighter and pull the tighter more but remover if you pull to tight a string can snap

tie your knots tighter and also try to finish the bracelet at around the same time that you started it so that your knot tension doesn't change too much. hope this helped
