Loose "Main" Knot

So I've been facing this problem for some time now. The "end" knots (the ones you tie at the end of the braid in the beginning and end) eventually end up getting loose and untying themselves. Since I obviously cut the excess string after tying the knots, when the knot gets loose and un-knots (I can guarantee that's not a word), I can't re-tie it because the string isn't long enough. This happened with my favorite bracelets and the ones I made for my brother and sister, so I'm really trying to find a solution.Tl;dr how do you make sure the knots at the end of the braids don't get loose? |

I know what you mean, I suggest leaving more excess thread after the end knot...like 1/2 inch or so and just when you tie it make sure it is as tight as possible ..otherwise there aren’t too many things you can do

Other than tying the end knots as tight as you can (which I’m sure you’re already doing), you could maybe paint them with clear nail polish or glue to keep them from getting loose? I don’t have that problem because I never wear my bracelets, so I’m not sure if that would work or not

It’s usually happened to me when I have thick bracelets or bracelets with 8 strings or more.

Try leaving more excess thread after tying the knot; it’ll prevent it from unraveling 😊

I haven't personally experienced this problem, but regardless I always do this when finishing a bracelet. It can be a bit time consuming, but after tying the knot, I pull each individual string to make sure it is as tight as possible.
