Strategy for making alphas look good on both sides?

I’m super new to following alpha patterns and know that I’ve seen people without all the wacky string mess happening on the back side of their bracelets, but have never been able to find the strategy for doing that. I’ve thought that maybe it involved using the color switching flat alpha technique and then just continuing weaving the strings through, but then what would you do to switch colors when you have more than 2? If anyone has any guidance or a video they could link me to I would appreciate it so much

It’s supposed to be a string mess in the back. Because it’s because your weaving strings in the alpha and doing color string switches. All alpha will looks like a mess on the back. I recommend watching Kinsey B’s video on how to read alpha patterns!

Also making first alphas can be difficult. Don’t worry! Practice makes perfect and make sure your doing a small alpha pattern (5-20 base strings) for your first alpha! Hope that helps 😊

Thank you for the suggestion, but I've been able to understand how to read alphas! I've finished a few key chains using the flat alpha technique, but I've been seeing things like the photo under #41921 (among others I can't think of off the top of my head) where it's clearly taken from the back because the knots aren't visible, but I wouldn't have the first clue how to do that because I've never found a tutorial that hasn't ended up with a huge string mess in the back. I had no idea it was possible, so I was curious if anyone in the forums knew the inside scoop

It’s called the backward technique. There’s a video of it on Meghan Morris’s channel (the video is called “upside down styled alpha”)

It’s actually super easy knotting like that you do a forward knot but instead of putting the string over, you put it under.

Now that I've taken a look at it, that does seem super easy! I imagine for people who don't know their knots well yet, that'd be pretty intimidating, but honestly I need to try that out on my next alpha. I've never seen that knotting technique before; I love that I'm learning new things all the time on here. (Sorry if I look like a creep replying so fast; I'm following a pattern right now lol)

There is a way to make double sided alphas it’s kinda hard to explain but @_kinseyb letter bracelet tutorial because she uses the double sided alpha technique in that video.
