Ehmm... Just cut like a middle, long string or whatever. And if you are running out of a string just add another one. I think Masha Knots has a you tube video about that.

i usually cut my base strings around 18 inches and then fold them in half. so that would be about 9 inches per base string.

The pattern itself will probably end up being around 36mm long (1.5mm per row) but I recommend making the bass strings longer so that you can tape them down easier, and also so that they’re easier to work with. Also make sure you add extra for ties (the amount depends on the type of ties you’re doing)
