Another method for upside down alphas?

I want to make an upside down alpha, but I don’t know how to incorporate the flat alpha technique into it. Is another way I could do it is to make all the color changes and drag the strings across on the side I’m knotting on, instead of the back?

You can definitely do that, just be mindful that if your pattern has text it will need to be mirrored in order to be readable.
