Will my bracelets get fuzzy and/or fray when they get wet? Can I wear them in the shower, pool, or ocean without them changing in any way?

Hi! I have worn then in the shower and in pools, however I have never been to the ocean to try it. I will hesitantly say yes, you can wear them in the shower and pool but there might be some changes depending on thread and chemicals and such. They should be just fine if you wear them in the shower; they will be wet for a while after every shower, which sometimes feels gross but besides that they should be fine for awhile. Since there is a ton of chemicals in pools there is a chance that the colors will fade really fast (depending on thread and stuff) and they will be soggy after as well, and if you wear them a lot, eventually the chemicals will weaken them just like they do to your swimsuit. If you wear them occasionally in the pool it will probably be ok. Maybe try to rinse them in plain water after a swim. *This is all just from my personal experiences* Hope this helps!! -Meghan

It probably depends a lot on your string. I have one on my ankle right now (about a year old) where the knots have loosened and the strings have started to stretch, and one recently fell off because it got so big it fit over my ankle. (maybe thats just me not tying the knots tight enough though rip). I wear it in the shower regularly, and in the lake, and occasionally in a pool. The bracelets get really wet and uncomfortable because they take so long to dry though. The colours have barely faded, but they are noticeably less vibrant. It may also depend on where it is, (Like when you paint your toenails vs your fingernails, your toes last so much longer) because anklets get less daily wear and tear than bracelets. I don't know how much of the stuff I described is due to the water or just regular damage from wear.
Sorry for the extra-long-off-topic response I'm procrastinating on homework

I have kept one bracelet on for a year now (and I have a pool) it’s faded a bit but the colours are light and still visible. I’d say that getting bracelets wet should be fine the colours just may fade and as long as the knots are tight/not loose they won’t fuzz.

No but the color will look a little dull because some of the dye can come out

You can get them wet but if it’s a smaller bracelet it will curl up

They will get wet. They will get a little fuzzy after but if you tie your knots pretty tight it will fray less.

Over time it will get a little dull, and depending on how you end it the ends could break over time as well. I don’t really now if there’s anything you can do to fix that tho

Yes, you can wear them in water and nothing big will happen if you just do it once. Over time, however, the colors generally wash out and the knots become looser. You may also find lint balls on the edges of your bracelet if you wear them often. I would recommend making your bracelets adjustable so you can take them off when swimming or showering. It is generally fine to wash your hands with them on. I think the main thing to avoid is pools because of the chlorine. It will make your bracelet's life shorter.

it depends on the string but i had an anklet on for i think around nine months and i swam, showered and did everything with it on (i couldn't take it off lol) and when i finally did take it off it was perfectly fine except for a little bit of discoloration from the sun! so most threads are perfectly fine to get wet and you can even wash your bracelets when they get dirty 😊

I have a fishtail anklet that I've had on for 3 years and I can't take it off without cutting the bracelet and it does fine in the shower and pool........... I even use body wash to wash my anklet in the shower

I think it depends on the thread that you are using. I got some from Walmart that tends to get fuzzy in general. I wear mine in the pool and they are fine!

The tightness of your knots might also play a role

You can wear your bracelets anywhere. But just when it is embroidery floss because other threads may get fuzzy

you can wash your bracelets or take them in water. however, i’ve noticed that sometimes mine will get fuzzy or that darker colors will bleed onto lighter ones when they get wet (pretty upsetting :/ ) 🌸✨

true story, i kept an anklet on for 3 years before it broke off, it has been in snow, chlorine, water, even had blood on it from when i got a cut close to the anklet. only use embroidery floss if you want it to last that long

Yes, you can wear a bracelet, and let it get wet. I have worn a bracelet in a pool, the shower, and to the beach. Nothing changed about it, except for the smell, so now it smells like ocean.
