On pattern #32767, do I just need to change the knots on the left to bf, and the knots on the right to fb, to do the straight edge technique? Thank you for your help!

yep! since the two edge strings and the strings next to them are all black you can technically do any knot you want with them. for the straight edges technique you simply do bf knots on the left and bf knots on the right! ๐
