so i am doing pattern #7624 and i am starting on the 3 sticks on the e. is there anyway to prevent the wrap around of the word color on the edge of the keychain if that makes sense? if it doesn't i can try to explain it again haha

I don’t know if this is what you are asking but if you are doing the flat alpha technique, don’t do the flat color change on the edges, just do a normal color change. Also I recommend doing the straight edge technique when you have color changes on the edge

I think I know what you are talking about. the word color (the blue in the pattern) is sticking out on the knots on the edge? I assume you are using the flat alpha technique, which masha knots (on youtube) has a video on. the flat alpha technique basically threads your previous leading string through the knot of the color you are switching to. so, if you do this on the edge, the previous color will obviously stick out on the edge. to fix this, you just don't use the flat alpha technique on the edges of the bracelet. masha demonstrates this in her flat alpha video, but basically just overlap your new leading string on top of the previous one, and make a knot. if this isnt the problem you are describing, then I would need you to describe it in more detail so I can try to help. otherwise, I hope this helps.
