Does anyone know a good tutorial about how to knot a pattern onto a dowel?

I would simply just loop the string through itself around the dowel if you know what I mean

The technical term for the knot most people use to attach their base strings to the dowel is larks head knot, itโs hard to explain in words but if you can find a video of it, its really simple! Hope this helps!
