I know Masha Knots has a video explaining this, but to sum it up, when looking at a pattern on the edges where you can see a strand that is not being used for a row, you tei it onto the string you are using for the straight edges technique. This results in forward-backward knots on the left of your bracelet, and backward-forward knots on the right, with the string you tied on never being shown in the beacelet. I hope that helps. If you need any more help, you can message me.

i’ve actually never tried the straight edges technique on normal pattern but i know from watching masha knots’s youtube tutorial that you have to add one extra string to both sides. those extra strings don’t make any knots, you just knot bf knots on the leftmost extra string and you knot fb knots on the rightmost extra string. hope that helps!

I have the same pattern with added straight edges #36164 (and some minor changes so the seeds are one knot big each)I also have a written tutorial on the straight edges technique. You can find it in the tutorial section or on my profile. |
