i tried watching a Masha Knots tutorial of teardrop loops for alpha bracelets but i’m still a little confused. after she does the loop and folds it, she has an even number of strings on each side of the bracelet and she can make triangle ends. does this not work if i have an odd number of strings? i’m trying to make a teardrop loop for pattern #36818 just like in one of the example pictures with the purple background. I use 18 strings for the loop but when i fold that in half, i get nine strings on each side which means i can’t do triangle ends because that’s an odd number . so how am i supposed to make a teardrop loop on this pattern if i have an odd number of strings when i fold them in half? sorry if this doesn’t make sense i’m bad at explaining things.

you can still do it with an odd number on each side, i do it quite frequently. like you said, you will have 9 on each side. so all that will happen is your triangles will not be even triangles. you would split the strings into (from left to right) a group of 5, then 4 on one end and a groups of 4, then 5 on the other ( i have found having the greater number on the outside looks way better) then just continue on like you normally would, doing the fb and bf knots, making the knots to fill in the spaces, etc.

Basically your two triangles will overlap a little in the middle

If you have an odd number of strings on one side, the triangles will be slightly uneven, but I still do it all the time and it looks fine

So you know how to sleep triangle ends how you add some to the middle as you go? ( or at least how I do it) you just start with the odd one in the middle
