Hello, I am quite new in the macrame world patterns and I would like to start with some easy bracelet patterns, I think I understood nearly everything about how to start the only thing I do not understand how long should be the thread for example the pattern #1 , in the description to dimensions it says 4x6, are this inches? 4x6=24 inches = 61cm the string? I hope someone can help me or indicate if I find an explanation in the website. Thank you.

U can make each string around 1metre long

The dimensions refer to how wide the bracelet will be and how many rows there are. Like the previous comment said around 1 metre is good for most bracelets however for #1 you may want to do slightly less because you use all the strings equally with just one type of knot.

Going back to the dimensions, it is half the amount of strings the pattern uses so #1 is 4 knots wide because it has 8 strings

It is better to have more string than to run out and have to add string so if you are going to fold it in half cut a wingspan length. If you are not just cut the string from your arm to your neckHope this helps! |

I usually do my strings from the tips of my fingers on one side to the tips of my fingers on the other side.

I would use 30cm of thread but my hand is 5in long so it depends how long ur hand is

2 meters then fold it in half i you want to make a loop. That what works for me all the time .
