My strings have snapped multiple times in the last couple bracelets and I don’t know what to do. I’ll be in the middle of the bracelet making a knot and it will come right out of the bracelet. I don’t think I’m pulling that hard so that’s not the problem. Any suggestions on how to prevent this? If not, any ways to fix it when this does happen! Thanks! 🙂

honestly, when this has happened to me previously it was because i was using low quality string ( like really really cheap friendship cord ) so that might be why 😕

you probably dont want to buy the cheap strings that are about only $3. the packs on amazon that are about $10- $15 are amazing and dont usually snap!

It happened to me with old string...just tie your knots loser and don’t fray as much

I am pretty sure your bracelet string is bad quality I recommend the loops and brand from Michaels or the dmc brand you get it on amazon

Yeah this only happens for two reasons - bad quality thread or pulling knots/string super tight. I used to buy cheap thread from Walmart and this happened all the time, now I use embroidery thread from Michaels (I think the Loops Brand) and it rarely happens. Hope this helps 🙂

My strings never snapped but I think it’s probably the brand you have. I always use DMC for my bracelets.

I make sure to use embroidery floss instead or friendship cord because it’s less likely to break.

Like the others said, it’s probably just low-quality string. When it does happen though you can add another string in the same way you would add a string to an alpha

i use embroidery floss from craft stores and i’ve noticed that it’s pretty good quality- i tie my knots pretty tightly- for not being very expensive, although when i make a mistake and go back to fix it, it can snap sometimes

Depending on how much string you have left, you can tie a tiny knot onto it to extend it (it might leave a bit of a bump in the pattern but not too noticeable) or you can tie one on like you would with an alpha, and you can use a dot of glue or clear nail polish on the back to keep the string in place
