Does anyone else have trouble keeping their (alpha pattern) bracelet the same width??? Mine always start out ok, but then they start getting thinner (I think I tie the knots too tight). It drives me crazy, especially because I'm a perfectionist. I've had the worst trouble on #13269 (one I made) because it's so wide. Any hints???

I have that problem sometimes. I've noticed that if I have to tie a lot of background rows, those rows stay nice and uniform. But then when I have to start adding other colors, the rows start to go a little wider. Then it'll thin out again when it's time to do more background rows. Sometimes, I tug on the bracelet a bit, so that those thinner, uniform rows will stretch out a little bit. You can't pull too hard, or you'll mess up the bracelet. You might be tying your background rows a little too tight. But sometimes, I've noticed, it has nothing to do with your tension. Sometimes, it's the string itself. I've noticed that darker colors seems to feel/look thinner than some brighter colors. If you're noticing that too, the thinner string might be a problem. I've never fully fixed the problem. But I hope those things help for you!

How do you tie off the strings when you change colors in an alpha pattern?? I finished The bracelet I previously mentioned and it started coming apart where I had changes colors! Thankfully I'm good with a needle and thread and was able to sew the section back together and used a black permanent marker to make it look like nothing ever happened... But I was wondering how to do it so it DOESNT come apart.

When you're changing the knotter color, you have to make sure that your new knotter string comes in from behind all of your strings. If you don't put your first knotter under your new one, it won't weave together correctly, and the bracelet will start to fall apart. Double check Adik's multi-colored alpha tutorial. She has pictures that explain it a lot better than I can here. That tutorial really helped me.

Also, if it's just adding more to a string, try adding it a couple rows early and keeping it in with a base string before you swap it in, that way it's tied into the bracelet securely before you start knotting with it 🙂
