Hi everyone, I’ll try and explain this as best as possible. I used segment knotting for the first time last week, and it involved lots of squares. However, the square turned out wonky and leaning to one side. I thought this was just a mistake I made, so I tried it again and they STILL came out wonky. What am I doing wrong?

Hey, it could be possible that the knot structure is not the best or it could be the edges that are messing you up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kmb72prLfPI that is a link you can copy and paste into your browser to watch the video. The video is better at explaining it than me and I'm sure this can help you! I wish you the best! Make sure to stay in contact with me to see how everything goes via the messages here on Bracelet Book! ❤️

When segment knotting make sure to not pull the string you're knotting onto to the side. Pull it straight down when knotting onto it.

It could be an imbalance in the pattern itself. Here are some tips: A) Make sure that the strings you are using are all the same thickness/brand. B) Try using MashaKnots straight edges technique. C) Try segment knotting a different pattern, perhaps one shown in a segment knotting youtube video, as some patterns can be unbalanced and that unbalance is highlighted when segment knotting. Hope these tips help!! 😊

It could be the pattern. And if it happens with a different pattern after you make the knot put the string down and just don't leave it up. I found this useful.Hope this helps 😄 😄 😄 ! |
