Here is my review of Alize Sal Simli thread. I got mine off Etsy after seeing a few Instagrammers using it for bracelets. I got one colour- black with silvery sparkles running through it. You can see a finished bracelet I made with it as the most recent picture on my profile.Firstly, the price; you can get a 100g ball on Etsy for a few UK pounds, and I have seen it on Ebay/Amazon too, but shipping can be expensive and difficult depending on where you live as with the majority of Alize branded threads. However each ball contains 460m of thread, so you'll likely never run out and making it very very good value for money and massively cheaper than embroidery thread. Secondly, colour options: All this thread is sparkley, which is great! It consists of one solid colour strand twisted with another thin metallic strand which creates a cool effect when you're knotting. There isn't a massive selection of colours available like embroidery thread but it has a decent range, including 3 different variations of metallic black. The thread seems fuzzy like yarn, which I was apprehensive about. However, when it is knotted with, it is not too noticeable in the finished bracelet although it does give a slight fuzzy effect. It does not look like you are knotting with wool. I'd say that embroidery thread creates a smoother finish, though. It is not scratchy against skin when worn like other brands of sparkley/metallic thread can be. It is not as easy to knot with as embroidery thread because of its slight fuzziness but you get used to it very fast. I have combined it in bracelets with embroidery thread and found it produces very similar sized knots. However, due to the stretch in the yarn, you can end up pulling too tight and creating a knot that's too small. It's also a pain to unravel knots tied with this thread as the yarn easily splits up. Overall, I would recommend it! |

Cool! Thank you @robyn_knot for trying this. Ever since Masha did her video with the different Alize yarns, Iโve been interested in trying them. I bought some Forever Simli from Yarn Street . com which was fairly priced, the shipping was kinda expensive, but not as bad as Etsy for where I live. I do have a question, about how thick is it compared to embroidery floss?

I find it to be comparably the same thickness as embroidery floss, but it stretches so becomes slightly thinner if stretched too much!
