how do you do a keychain with an uneven amount of strings? for example, one i’m trying to do is 19 strings. do i just tie 20 strings on to the keyring and cut one off?

What I do is I cut the string (the last one so the 19th) and tie it with the background string. Then I do the larks head knot with the two together.

@plant-dad you're welcome! I just started one with the same method and I was able to push the knot behind so you cannot see it!

What I do is use the end of my leading string as the last base string. That way I can do a lark head's knot with it too and I don't need any awkward knots.
