Whenever I do a teardrop loop, it messes up the first few rows because the strings have to stretch. Any tips on how to fix this?

the strings shouldn’t have to stretch... make sure to be nestling the first half of your knots between the two previous, and hold the string you are knotting onto very straight. i also recommend this video: https://youtu.be/dPcpD-i2D0U

It could also be that your knots are really loose. When knots are really loose, it can cause holes.....

You can imagine the teardrop loop like a reversed triangle end. To use it in a pattern you have to pick a triangle in the pattern that you want to follow with your teardrop loop. For a teardrop loop the triangle needs to be facing down. Since you basically knot the edge of the triangle when making a teardrop loop there shouldn't be any gaps.(You can't knot row by row - or at least in the first few rows you don't need to do all knots because some of the knots would be on the inside of the loop. I hope this makes sense.) |
