alpha bracelet problem

So, I decided to try an alpha bracelet and my bachground strings were fine and then I start using a color to start making the pattern but it wont tighten all the way and it leaves all this extra string and a big gap. 🙁

try to tie the knots tighter and make sure the string you start with is tied down, if its loose and not held down the knots will be loose

it wont tie any tighter. By the way I noticed something... when I make the knots, the background string doesn't move over closer to the next string, it just kind of stays where it is and the gap just gets bigger each time because the string has to stretch across farther to get to the background string. Should I start pulling it to the left if im doing backward knots and pull it to the right if i doing forward knots??? I hope this helps you answer my question...

You should move the background string upwards, so that it's more horizontal while you tie the foreground string. That'll help it to be closer to the edge of the last row you just tied.

i have a problem. when i make alpha bracelts, ther'es a gap between the rows. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are having problems with gaps between rows..... Start to make the know however your comfortable making it but before pulling it tight, hold the background string down and pull up with the thread your using to make the knot. (Make sure you do this both times you go around your string) This should work no matter what direction you are knotting. I use a clipboard and pinch the background string to the bottom of the board. If you are making a knot with the background string, do the same thing but reverse (pull up with the background string). Hope this makes sense..... If not let me know and I'll try to explain more clearly.

I have a question 😛If I want to do an alpha bracelet, i need which type of rope? Only whole? Because when I do a normal bracelet, i use 100% coton. |

Use regular six strand cotton floss. It works the best.
