does anyone know how to keep normal patterned bracelet flat and straight cause no matter how had i try it comes out bumpy

try to make sure the first half of your knots are securely placed below the previous knots to make a more smooth transition and no gaps!

It also helps if you hold the string you're knotting onto tight and pull it down instead of to one side. Especially with patterns with a zigzag bracelets often turn a bit wonky because there's the tendency to pull them to the side you're knotting towards. You can avoid that by holding the strings you're knotting onto tightly.
